Who Is Nathan?
I’m not anyone special.
I’m a husband, a father, and a construction superintendent. I go to work, pay bills, raise kids, and try to do right by the people in my life. I live a pretty normal life—except for the amount of things I’ve had to carry over the last twelve years.
I almost failed English in high school. Writing was never the plan. Becoming an author wasn’t a childhood dream or a career pivot. This started because I needed to get the story out of my head and onto paper, to see if it would make any sense once it was honest, and to see if writing it down might help heal some of what life had broken.
A year and roughly eighty thousand words later, this book exists.
I didn’t write it to impress anyone. I wrote it to tell the truth. To put down what it actually felt like to walk through betrayal, illness, broken marriage, loss, fatherhood, and rebuilding when quitting would have been easier. There are no shortcuts here, no polished hero arc—just the lessons learned along the way, written by someone still learning them.
At the end of the day, I’m still just a man, a husband, a father, a friend. Someone who shows up to work every day and tries to be a little more useful tomorrow than he was today.
If you’ve walked through hard things, or you’re still standing in the middle of them, you’re not alone. This story was written by someone who knows what it costs to keep going.
